Glorious angel to accompany the children of Adam from the beginning of their creation on their mother's abdomen until their spirits lifted from their bodies when death arrives. Angels will accompany them on the grave and the hereafter country.
As their time together in the world are as follows:
first:
They stood on the side of the children of Adam at the beginning of creation. From Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger-sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam-said:
وكَّل الله بالرحم ملَكاً ، فيقول : أي رب نطفة ؟ أي رب علقة ؟ أي رب مضغة ؟ فإذا أراد الله أن يقضي خلقها قال : أي رب ذكر أم أنثى ؟ أشقي أم سعيد ؟ فما الرزق ؟ فما الأجل ؟ فيكتب كذلك في بطن أمه . رواه البخاري ( 6595 ) ومسلم ( 2646 ) واللفظ للبخاري
God sent an angel to every womb, and said: O Allah, germ (sperm)?, O God 'alaqah (blood clot)?, O God Mudhghah (piece of flesh)?, And if God wants to perfect his creation, the angel was saying, God male or female?, Miserable or happy?, How rizekinya?, When death?, so he wrote it in the belly of his mother ". (HR.Bukhori 6595 and Muslim 2646, belongs to the editorial above hadith Bukhari)
Second: Keeping Children of Adam.
سَوَاء مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ الْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍ بِاللَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌ بِالنَّهَارِ ﴿١٠﴾ لَهُ مُعَقِّبَاتٌ مِّن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللّهِ [ الرعد/10-11] .
"Same thing (for God), who among you who keep his word, and who bluntly by saying it, and who is hiding at night and running (appeared) in the daytime. For humans there are angels who always followed in turn, in front and behind, they guard him by command of Allah ". (Surat ar Ra'du: 10-11)
Turjumanul Quran-Ibn Abbas radi 'anhuma-has explained that the children of Adam who followed in turn are the angels, to keep the man from the front and rear. If coincided with the destiny God has decreed to him of the incident, accident etc., then the angel distanced themselves.
Mujahid said: "It is not every person except one angel who was sent to take care of jinn disturbance, human or animal, both while asleep and awake. It is not something that came to him unless the guardian angels will say: "behind you!?". unless indeed God permits, then the danger that would befall him.
Someone once said to Ali ibn-Abi Talib radi 'anhu-: "It's a group of people from Murad want to kill you!", He replied: "It's every man is always with him two angels who will look after during yet doomed, but if the same fate with the both distanced themselves, actually dying it tough shield ".
Angels who followed the children of Adam in turn mentioned in the letter that the ar Ra'du another paragraph which reads:
{ وهو القاهر فوق عباده ويرسل عليكم حفظة حتى إذا جاء أحدكم الموت توفته رسلنا وهم لا يفرطون } .
"It is He who has supreme authority over all his servants, and sent His angels guard thee, so that when death comes to one of you, he diwafatkan by Our angels, and the angels We were not dereliction of duty ". (Surat al-An'am: 61)
The guardian angels that God sent forth his servants to keep it guarded his job until the end arrives.
Third: The angel of goodness and badness authors.
None of the children of Adam except with two angels in charge of writing goodness or badness from childhood to adulthood, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala-said:
وإن عليكم لحافظين ، كراماً كاتبين ، يعلمون ما تفعلون } [ الانفطار/10 -12] .
"When in fact for you there are (angels) who supervise (work), glorious (Allah) and the record (job-the job), they know what you do". (Surat al Infithar: 10-12)
Allah ta'ala says in verse-also others:
{ ولقد خلقنا الإنسان ونعلم ما توسوس به نفسه ونحن أقرب إليه من حبل الوريد ، إذ يتلقى المتلقيان عن اليمين وعن الشمال قعيد ، ما يلفظ من قول إلا لديه رقيب عتيد } [ق/16-18]
"And indeed We have created man and know what is whispered by him, and We are nearer to him than his neck vein, (ie) when the two angels record the deeds, one sitting on the right and the other on the left. Nothing but a ucapanpun's saying is nearby angelic supervisor who is always present ". (Surah Qaff: 16-18)
Angel right to record the goodness, and to the left of his duty to record the ugliness.
From Abu Umamah that the Prophet-sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam-said:
إن صاحب الشمال ليرفع القلم ست ساعات عن العبد المسلم المخطئ ، فإن ندم واستغفر الله منها ألقاها ، وإلا كتبت واحدة . رواه الطبراني في " المعجم الكبير " ( 8 / 158 ) .
"Indeed (angels) who are on the left, he will lift his pen to six hours for a Muslim who commits a sin, if he was sorry and istighfar to God then he remove it, and if not then a written one mistake". (Narrated by al-Tabarani in 'al Mu'jamul Kabir': 8/158)

After the above description, then we can conclude that the number of angels that are assigned to every child of Adam is four angels.
Ibn Kathir-rahimahullah-said:
The Word of God:
له معقبات من بين يديه ومن خلفه يحفظونه من أمر الله
"For humans there are angels who always followed in turn, in front and behind, they guard him by command of Allah". (Surat ar Ra'du: 10-11)
namely; for every servant of God there are angels who take turns to look after the day and night, keeping of all the evils and calamities, as well as other angels also turns on day and night to write the slave deeds, either good or bad deeds.
Two angels on the left and right who wrote all the deeds, the right side is responsible for writing the kindness, and to the left to write ugliness.
The other two angels charge to keep, an angel is in front and the other behind him.
Thus, a servant is always by his side during the four angels, angels and four nights. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir: 2/504)
